As an Analyst at Hunden Partners, Tanay Desai works on development analysis and financial feasibility studies for mixed-use districts, hotels, convention centers, sports stadium districts, student housing, sports tourism, and placemaking projects. His work spans multi-use sports and entertainment districts, downtown mixed-use developments, convention centers, and destination attractions, including engagements for professional sports franchises and major universities. He has contributed analytical work to studies in Washington, D.C., the Chicagoland region, the Kansas City metropolitan area, and Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as Northwest Indiana, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Fargo, North Dakota, among others. Across these projects he conducts market and submarket research, financial feasibility modeling, economic impact and demographic analysis, competitive profiling, and stakeholder interviews.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Tanay graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate. During his time at UW-Madison he was actively involved in real estate and finance campus clubs. He also spent a semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain at ESCI-UPF.

Prior to joining Hunden Partners, Tanay interned with the Stonewater Group conducting multifamily development advisory, at R.W. Baird as part of their fixed income asset management team working alongside the tech and municipal bonds teams, and at UBS Wealth Management analyzing client portfolios and creating portfolio management reports.
